A 38-year-old Beloit man arrested on multiple violent felony charges involving a firearm after he fled from police during a traffic stop and later crashed in Illinois is bound over for trial

(Monday) morning Ronald Hicks waived his right to a preliminary hearing on three counts of kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon, first degree recklessly endangering safety, battery, fleeing an officer, second degree recklessly endangering safety, possession with intent to delivery cocaine, possession with intent to deliver THC, and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

According to the criminal complaint, after holding a man and his baby hostage at gunpoint, Hicks led police on a car chase with speeds exceeding 80mph in Beloit before crashing his car in Winnebago County.

Hicks is due back in Rock County Court Tuesday for his arraignment.

He’s currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $200,000 cash bond.
