Enrollment in the Janesville School District looks to be down a bit in 2023 compared to 2022.
The district released their Third Friday in September data Friday and total enrollment stands at 9,353 which represents a decrease of 121 students from the previous year.
Broken down into certain grade ranges, the district saw a slight rise in Kindergarten by 6 students for a total of 618, but four year old kindergarten is down 43 students compared to 2022; while enrollment in district high schools dropped by 39 students.
The Wisconsin Department of Instruction uses enrollment numbers to determine state aide, but there’s no information available about how a membership number drop of 13 would impact state aid for the district.
