Rock County officials say they were investigating a “cyber event” which left some of its computer systems non-operational.

A Tuesday release from County Administrator Josh Smith’s office says they responded quickly to the incident by taking systems down to prevent further impact and they are working with third party specialists to securely bring systems back online as quickly as possible.

The release also says some systems are not yet back online, some county operations may be temporarily affected, but the public should experience minimal service disruption.

The release did not indicate what the “cyber event” was.
