The deadline to submit applications for Janesville’s open police chief position passed over the weekend.

Assistant to the City Manager Nick Faust says a total of 13 applications were received from all over the country.

Faust wouldn’t comment on how many of the applications – if any – were internal.

Faust says the Police and Fire Commission will review the applications over the next couple of weeks and make decisions on who they would like to interview.

Current police chief David Moore is retiring September 22nd.
