A sandwich shop that closed years ago in Janesville claims it’s returning.

According to a news release from Cousins Subs, plans are in the works for two new stores in Janesville.

In an email to Big Radio, Cousin Subs’ Vice President of Public Relations Kristin Tracy says we are experiencing some unforeseen setbacks and cannot comment on their status at this time. We are targeting the Janesville area for future growth and continue to look for new locations.

Janesville Associate Planner Trae Meyer says only preliminary discussions have occurred regarding the potential development of a restaurant on the City’s west side. If a second location is proposed within the City, that has not been disclosed in any prior conversations with City staff.

Cousins Subs and its franchisees operate nearly 100 sub sandwich shops in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
