Former Janesville City Manager Mark Freitag resigns his job as top administrator of Westminster, Colorado.
A memo on the city of Westminster’s web-site says Freitag handed in his resignation July 16th.
Westminster is a Denver suburb of 115,000 people. Freitag took a job there in August 2022, and two months later left the Janesville city manger’s post. He worked here nine years.
The memo says Freitag had lined up construction of a new city drinking water facility in Westminster, as well as a new municipal court building.
The city memo does not give reasons for Freitag’s departure. He was hired by Westminster’s city council on a 5-2 vote, and initially was being paid $265,000 as Westminster’s city manager.
Westminster has appointed an interim city manager. A spokesman for the city manager’s office tells Big Radio that Westminster officials won’t comment further on Freitag’s resignation.
