A third part management groups, Sports Facility Management, will operate the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center after a Monday night vote.

Neighborhood & Community Services Director Jennifer Petruzzello says there is benefits to using a third party group, including the ability to have expanded outreach across different regions, and providing full financial management services.

Petruzzello says the city will pay $18,000 a month to Sports Facility Management for pre-opening services and that will be paid for with a $100,000 donation from the Friends of the Woodman’s Center.

Once the facility is open and running, the base fee for the city will be $18,000 plus incentive fees and sponsorship or advertising compensation, and the contract lasts until 2030.
