A Janesville man is being hailed a hero after jumping in to provide first aid to a man injured last weekend in a car versus motorcycle crash on East Milwaukee Street.

The Rock County 911 Communications Center says the accident was reported at 5:43 p.m. on Saturday in front of Kwik Trip.

U.S. Marine Corp Veteran Andy Vance says he was getting ready to host a UFC fight party at his house just before 5:00 p.m. on Saturday when he decided to head to the convenience store for a Red Bull.

Vance says after parking his vehicle and hearing the crash, he went to investigate and found a man lying in the road who had blood gushing from his nose.

Vance says he rolled the man onto his side, put his shirt under his head and kept the man still in case he had had suffered a neck or spinal injury.

Another listener contacted Big Radio news because they witnessed the accident and were moved by Vance’s heroics.
