Beloit Police have launched a homicide investigation after an overnight shooting death.  Police say officers responded to the 1400 block of Nelson Avenue a little after 1:30 a.m. Friday on a gunshot call for service.  Officers located a victim suffering from a fatal injury.  Despite immediate medical attention, police say the victim succumbed to their injury.  Police say no suspects have been apprehended and the motive remains under investigation.  The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  Police Chief Andre Sayles says in a news release, “this tragic loss of life deeply saddens us, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s loved ones.”
