The Janesville Alcohol License Advisory Committee has approved a temporary license for the Wine Walk in downtown Janesville next month, with one slight tweak.

City Attorney Wald Klimczyk says under state law that the city adopts by ordinance, the wine consumed at the designated Wine Walk locations would have to be consumed or disposed of on the premise and couldn’t be taken from place to place.

ALAC Chair Paul Williams says because of that businesses will have to implement features such as signage or dumping areas to make sure patrons aren’t walking from location to location with open intoxicants.

The Wine Walk takes place May 18th in downtown Janesville.
