The City of Milton could soon be home to southern Wisconsin’s first self-serve kayak rental station.

Rent.Fun CEO Adam Greenstein says he’ll present the terms of a proposal for a program at Mud Lake to the Milton Parks and Recreation Commission (Monday) night.

The initial cost to the City of Milton would be $18,000 and it would guarantee the program for five years. The City of Milton and Rent.Fun would split the rental revenue the kayaks generate.

Once the program is up and running, users would use their smartphone to pay for a kayak and unlock the locker, similar to rental bicycle and scooter programs.
