As of Friday afternoon 48 people had filed at least some of the paper work to run for one of the 29 open Rock County Board of Supervisors seats.

County Clerk Lisa Tollefson says that’s an extremely good turnout considering in the past some seats haven’t had any candidates.

Tollefson says the County Board is responsible for carrying out the wishes of the state legislature.

The deadline to turn in nomination papers is 5:00 p.m. on January 2nd.
