The Janesville man police say took a dip in the Rock River to avoid arrest in connection with a downtown shooting, is bound over for trial.
34-year-old Erik Heise waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Rock County Court Commissioner Mason Braunschweig Tuesday morning.
Heise is charged with second degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a firearm while intoxicated, and resisting and officer.
Heise’s attorney entered pleas of not guilty to the charges. He’s currently free on a signature bond.
