The Walworth County Public Health Department launches a new “Hello Baby,” program to support families in the community with newborn babies.

Health Officer Erica Bergstrom says all families of newborn babies can receive a free home visit from a nurse regardless of income.

The goal of the program is to help caregivers manage the stressors of newborn care while helping them build confidence in asking for support.

Bergstrom says the program was designed in coordination with Racine County Public Health and UW-Milwaukee’s Institute of Child and Family Well-Being.

Families that deliver at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center will receive program information at the hospital while those who deliver at other healthcare facilities can sign up on the Walworth County website.
