The 41-year-old Janesville woman accused of showing up to a local school while open carrying a gun makes her initial appearance in Rock County Court.

Court Commissioner Jack Hoag gave Danielle Reints a signature bond on a felony charge of possession of a firearm on grounds of a school.

According to the criminal complaint Reints had a gun holstered in plain view when she went to Van Buren Elementary the afternoon of September 27th to pick up her boyfriend’s children.

After being placed into custody, Reints told police she thought she was allowed to carry a gun on school grounds because her ex husband who is a cop did so.

Police spoke with the boyfriend who said he told her not to take her gun to his children’s school.

Reints is due back in court for an adjourned initial appearance on November 13th.
