Milton has hired a new city administrator, and he’ll likely start in mid-November.

Milton Mayor Anissa Welch says the Milton City Council has voted to offer the city’s city administrator post to Paul Hensch, who has been village of Spencer administrator the last 8 years.

Welch says of the four administrative finalists the council interviewed this week, Hensch was most impressive because of his experience and desire to come to Milton.

Welch says the move means if Hensch accepts and the council approves, he’d start work in Milton in mid-to-late November. That’ll be as the city of Milton is wrapping up its annual budget.

Hensch replaces former Milton City Administrator Al Hulick, who left earlier this year to take post as a business professor at a local technical college.

Spencer is a village of about 2,000 residents that’s west of the Wausau metro area.

In interviews with the community earlier this week, Hensch said he’d look forward to tackling the city’s pending update its own codes, the first one in years.
