The Beloit School District offered some updated info on their 2023-2024 budget Wednesday night, and there appears to be a bit of optimism.

Executive Director of Business Bob Chady says after initially thinking they missed out on it, the DPI is telling them they may be able to use the full $11,000 in per pupil aid proposed in Governor Tony Evers Biennial budget which passed in June.

Chad says the preliminary budget shown Wednesday indicates the district could be facing a little more than a $2 million budget deficit, but with the increase in per pupil state aid and some other factors, he thinks they can present a balanced or even positive budget at the end of the month.

The Beloit School Board will vote on final approval of the budget at their October 30th meeting.
