The Beloit City Council gets the 2024 budget process rolling.

Finance Director Eric Miller presented the details of next year’s spending plan to the City Council last week.

The City of Beloit’s proposed budget for next year represents a decrease in close to $20 million compared to last year’s budget.

The capital improvements budget is decreasing by 53.57 percent and the special revenue funds budget is decreasing by 34.35 percent.

The City Council held a budget workshop Monday morning at the Beloit Public Library.
