The School District of Beloit will be opting into another nationwide vaping lawsuit settlement.

Executive Director of Business Bob Chady says the district is due to receive just over $31,000 in gross awards, but the district will also need to pay national and state legal fees, so the actual amount may be in the high teens to low twenty thousand dollar amount.

Chady says this is a national, class action type lawsuit, and the district is just one of thousands from around the country, and the district is ahead of the curve as responses for the lawsuit aren’t actually due until some time in November.

The district expects to get the funds within sixty days of final approval of the settlement.
