Legislative Democrats take another stab at legalizing marijuana in Wisconsin.

State Senator Mark Spreitzer says he’s supported legislation to legalize medical and recreational marijuana in the past and he’s introducing it again this session.

Speitzer joined Representative Jenna Jacobson and several other legislative democrats at Country Life Hemp Farms in Cottage Grove Friday.

The Beloit Democrat says in the 15th Senate District, nearly 70% of Rock County residents voted in favor of legalization in a November 2018 referendum.

A recent Legislative Fiscal Bureau report estimates that Illinois collected $36 million in tax revenue from Wisconsin residents purchasing marijuana last year.
