For the 24th year, volunteers from rural Rock County are coming together to provide food and gifts for families that have fallen on hard times during the holidays.

The annual Children’s Christmas Benefit is happening this Saturday at the American Legion in Orfordville.

Founder Brian Knudson says the event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with a pork chop dinner.

Knudson says donations of items for babies and toddlers like toys, diapers, and wipes are especially appreciated as they are in high demand and low supply.

Knudson says referrals for families who could use some extra help in the way of food or gifts this holiday season will be accepted until December 4th.
