One out of every three chicken nuggets produced in the world uses technology from a company that recently broke ground on a new repair facility in Janesville.

Janesville Economic Development Director Jimsi Kuborn says the new 85,000 square foot GEA Mechanical facility on Enterprise Drive will employ about 74 people.

Kuborn says company has a goal of making the facility net zero by 2040.

The Janesville City Council approved a tax incremental financing agreement for the project back in July.

The $20 million project is expected to be operational in late 2023.
