With federal funding ending, the School District of Janesville is unable to provide fee lunch in all of it’s school buildings this year.

Superintendent Mark Holzman says universal lunch will only be provided in the schools with the highest percentage of students receiving free and reduced lunch.

Holzman says parents who are struggling to afford health meals can still apply for free or reduced meals in all of the school buildings.

Holzman estimates about 50 percent of Janesville students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

Free breakfast is still being provided to all students.
