Janesville police found loaded handguns on city on streets on two different occasions last week.

Lieutenant Mark Ratzlaff says the two handguns found weren’t related to each other and also were not related to the shooting that happened Sunday morning on Rockport Road.

Ratzlaff says that if someone ever accidentally loses a firearm, they should report it to police so that they can better find the firearms and they aren’t lying around where they can harm those in the community.

Police Chief David Moore released a statement on Facebook, but did not give specific locations of the firearms, just that they were located on Janesville’s east and west sides.
