The Rock County chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance is celebrating National Trails Day.

Coordinator Dennis James says citizens are invited to participate in 5.2 mile hike from the North pavilion in Riverside Park to the rustic cabin in the Janesville School Outdoor Lab.

James says the hike kicks off at 9:00 Saturday morning and wraps up around noon.

James says bathrooms and refreshments will be available at the outdoor lab. Anyone who’s unable to make the hike back can get a ride in a chase vehicle.

The Ice Age Trail Alliance is a non-profit, member and volunteer-based organization which conserves, creates, maintains, and promotes the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
