A very visible part of a downtown building is getting a facelift.

The YMCA of Northern Rock County is having it’s historic neon sign completely restored thanks to a generous contribution from a group of private donors.

CEO Angie Bolson says the last time their historic neon sign was lit up was 12 years ago.

Bolson says refurbishing this sign will lend a sense of nostalgia to long-time members, invite new ones and will be a wonderful addition to revitalizing the downtown

Bolson says JNB Signs of Janesville will be completing the restoration project and are expected to finish in mid-April.
