The City of Beloit is about six months into the search for a new permanent police chief.

Interim Chief Thomas Stigler says GovHR has narrowed the field of applicants down to about half a dozen candidates.

Stigler confirmed that he is one of the finalists still in the running.

Stigler says there’s no timeline on when the PFC will make a decision.

The process began when former Police Chief David Zibolski left to take a job in North Dakota last September.
