The 2024 Janesville Open Tennis Tournament will be held at Palmer Park Tennis Courts, June 28th -June 30th. The tournament, nicknamed “The Pat”, is hosted by the The Patrick Ryan Memorial Tennis Foundation, which was formed to promote and teach the life-long sport of tennis in Janesville and surrounding communities. The foundation, together with the city of Janesville have made significant improvements to the Palmer Park Tennis center. The tournament has attracted well over 100 registrants from all over Wisconsin, Illinois and beyond. This year we are on track for the largest tournament yet. Some adult events are filling up fast.
****Saturday, June 29th features a free, exciting EXHIBITION MATCH between rising tennis star 19 year-old Reese Brantmeier of Whitewater and her partner from UNC’s NCAA Divison I women’s tennis championship team, versus former Michigan State number one singles player and his partner CJ Armbrust. This thrilling face-off will probably be the highest level doubles played in Janesville in several decades. No charge for this event. Coffee, drinks and light refreshment will also be available to viewers at no charge. The exhibition match will be held at 9:00 am Saturday June, 29th at the Palmer Park Tennis center.*****
The 2024 Janesville Open Tennis Tournament will have singles events for juniors, and doubles events for adults. Emphasis is on sportsmanship, camaraderie and good competition.
