Second District Congressman Mark Pocan says limiting child-care costs for families could help reduce the worker shortage. Pocan says a recent Small Business Administration round-table discussion with Wisconsin businesses showed high child care costs were keeping women out of the workforce. The Democrat says a good illustration is how six of seven jobs created during the pandemic went to men. Pocan is also promoting a provision in the President’s three-and-a-half trillion dollar “Build Back Better” plan which would limit child-care costs to 7% of a family’s income.
