The City of Janesville is seeing success with a micro loan program intended to help businesses weather the COVID-19 pandemic.

City Manager Mark Freitag says when the City Council first approved the program over the summer, there was only one applicant for a $5000 loan.

Freitag says since the City Council modified the program in the fall, two more applications have been received. One is in the approval process and the other is under review.

The program started with $100,000 in City funding.
