The city of Janesville is promoting its redevelopment of the old General Motors site into the build ready Centennial Park to a California based electric car manufacturer. City Manager Mark Freitag says he reached out to Tesla through Twitter to let owner Elon Musk know how Janesville is open for business, has a former General Motors site ready for redevelopment, and a skilled workforce. Musk Tweeted over the weekend how he was considering moving his headquarters out of California. Freitag encourages residents to retweet the city’s message as a way to help.
