Deonte Foster is in police custody Saturday morning.

The 41-year-old Janesville man is charged with attempted first-degree homicide in a December 17th shooting committed at a near-west-side apartment building that left the victim in critical condition.

Janesville police served a search warrant at Foster’s home in the building, down the hall from the crime scene.

They also arrested 35-year-old Cerissa A. Cleveland of Janesville on a pending charge of harboring a felon.

According to the criminal complaint, a witness told police Foster yelled at the victim for knocking on his door after shooting him.

The witness also said she and the victim had previously bought crack cocaine from Foster.

Police say they are no longer seeking suspects in the case.
