The public can weigh in on Rock County’s administration of opioid settlement funding.

A public forum to discuss the county’s plans will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at the Beloit Public Library.

It’s part of an update to the county’s strategy for spending the settlement dollars. Rock County was party to lawsuits seeking damages from pharmaceutical companies over the effects of the opioid overdose epidemic.

The county approved a previous plan for the settlement money in August 2023. That money has gone toward youth prevention efforts and opening three new sober living facilities in Rock County.

Health Officer Katrina Harwood says people who can’t make the forum in Beloit can reach out to the Rock County Public Health Department to share their ideas.
