The Medicare open enrollment period is open and the Rock County Aging and Disability Resource Center is ready to help.
The enrollment window opened Oct. 15 and will close Dec. 7.
ADRC elder benefit specialist Lachel Fowler suggests people should take a look at their current Medicare Part C and Part D enrollments and assess their options.
Fowler says her office can help. They have people tell them their prescriptions, their primary care doctors’ names and their pharmacy preferences, then the ADRC runs that information through a plan finder to generate a list of best possible enrollment combinations.
And before you call the number on your screen from any of those TV ads, be aware — Fowler says those are marketing tools. A licensed insurance agent is on the other end of the line trying to sell you only the specific products that they’re licensed to sell.
Fowler says her office is different because they can break down the whole range of options for you. And with 36 Part C plans and 14 Part D plans, there are a lot of options.
To reach the ADRC, Rock County residents can call the general office line at 608-741-3600 or Fowler’s direct line at 608-757-5414.
