
One of the two men charged in connection with the shooting death of a 49-year-old Beloit man has his preliminary hearing in Rock County Court.
Last week Court Commissioner Mason Braunschweig bound 38-year-old Kevin Payne over for trial on charges of first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and bail jumping.
Beloit Police were called to the 1200 block of Dewey Avenue just after 3:00 the morning of May 11th on the report of shots fired.
At the time Beloit Police said one person was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
According to the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office, Nikkita Green died July 20th at a care facility.
The other suspect, 42–year-old Terey Vance is due back in Rock County Court (Tuesday), and Payne has another court appearance on Thursday.
