
Cash bond is set at $10,000 for the 51-year-old Mount Pleasant man accused of pulling a 76-year-old woman out of her vehicle and driving off last Thursday.
Christopher Williams is charged in Rock County Court with attempting to flee an officer, robbery with use of force, and attempted robbery with use of force.
According to the criminal complaint, several witness called 911 just before 5:00 p.m. on September 12th after observing Williams pull the elderly victim from their vehicle in the 7000 block of South County J in the Village of Clinton.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office located the victim’s Ford Fiesta being driven by Williams and attempted to stop it but he fled at a high rate of speed. Williams eventually stopped after deputies used a PIT maneuver.
Investigators learned that Williams had attempted to car-jack four other people before taking the victim’s car.
Williams is due back in Rock County Court September 24th.
