
The Beloit teenager accused of shooting a 19-year-old woman on Christmas Day takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
According to online court records 17-year-old Jahmir Smith plead guilty Wednesday morning to attempted second-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon. He was originally charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
Beloit Police say officers were dispatched to the intersection of Porter and Yates Avenues shortly before 11:00 a.m. on December 25th on the report that a woman had been shot while driving a car.
According to the criminal complaint officers viewed surveillance video in the area and identified Smith as a suspect.
Smith faces up to 60 years in prison at sentencing on January 8th.
