Janesville police have named a person arrested after a pair of shootings Sunday left Craig High School and a nearby Masonic lodge struck with bullets.
Janesville Police Detectives say 24-year-old Janesville man Dalton Talley is in Rock County Jail on suspicion he used a gun to shoot out a glass entry door at Craig High School Sunday.
Police say they found evidence the damage was caused by a bullet striking the door of the school at 401 South Randall Avenue.
Police have not said whether Talley is also suspected in a shooting authorities say blew out multiple windows at the Masonic Center in the overnight hours Sunday.
The Masonic Center is at 2322 East Milwaukee Street. The Masonic lodge is about a half a mile northwest of Craig High School.
Janesville police Sgt. Jennifer Seeger tells Big Radio a detective had been assigned to investigate both shootings, and that police think the two shootings happened around the same time frame Sunday.
Police would not discuss Talley’s arrest further, other than to say there is no ongoing threat to the school or community. Talley was taken in custody Thursday night.
He faces court hearings on expected charges of criminal property damage, and possession and discharge of a firearm in a school zone.
