The City of Janesville inches closer to breaking ground on a new 15,000 square foot aquatic facility at Palmer Park.

Planning Director Duane Cherek says the new water feature would be located about 500 feet away from the existing structure along South Harmony Drive.

The Janesville Plan Commission approved the site plan in a five to one vote on Monday night with Commissioner Paul Williams dissenting.

The City hopes to begin construction on the new pool this fall with an estimated completion date next May.
