Janesville police are asking the public to avoid the area of West Court and Washington streets on the city’s near west side.  The Rock County Emergency Dispatch Center reports police were called to an “active threat” in the area just after 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.  A police news release issued about 3:00 a.m. simple says officers are currently investigating an incident.  West Court street from Centerway street to Pearl street is currently closed.
