After one term in office, 31st Assembly District Representative Ellen Schutt has announced she won’t be seeking reelection.
In a statement, Schutt says she’s been honored and humbled by all of the support she’s received to run for reelection, and although she knows her campaign would have been successful, she’s made the decision not to seek reelection this fall.
Schutt says it wasn’t an easy decision to make but one that was made with thoughtful consideration and conversations with her family, friends, and neighbors.
During her one and only term, Schutt had a number of bills introduced and passed, including a baby box safe haven law, and three bills expanding access to healthcare.
