
According to the University of Wisconsin Entomology Department, the Lake Geneva area has perhaps the longest history and best records of periodical cicada activity in the entire state – dating back to 1837.
Visit Lake Geneva is inviting visitors to join them for a once-every-221-years double cicada hatch at Wisconsin’s Bug Central.”
Cicadapalooza will take place on June 8th from noon until 4:30 p.m. at Lake Geneva Public Library.
Events include tours of a cicada-infested cemetery, talks with bug experts, and even and a beer brewed with dehydrated, ground cicadas.
