Janesville police are asking the public to avoid the area of the 2000 block of Excalibur Drive as they conduct an investigation.

A Big Radio reporter on the scene says police have a three block area between Wright Road and Excalibur Drive and Randolph cordoned off with a SWAT team on site.

A neighbor in the area says the area has been blocked off for at least half an hour, and a Beloit SWAT command trail is on the scene.

A firefighter also asked media to stay back from the area between Randolph and Spruce Street, because officials believe that would be the “line of fire” in an apparent standoff situation.
