Local leaders, a United States Senator, and Governor Tony Evers were all in Janesville Tuesday to break ground on the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center.

Ever says the facility will bring unlimited opportunities to the Janesville area and will hold events that will draw people for Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago; and will provide millions of dollars in new economic output.

Senator Tammy Baldwin says as Janesville continues to grow and become a tourism hub in the Midwest, there needs to be investments into spaces that will better meet the needs of businesses and individuals in the area.

The center is expected to wrap up completion next spring, with occupancy ready for next summer.
