An animal tranquilizer that’s not meant for humans is cause for concern for the Rock County Public Health Department.
Public Health Strategist Shari Faber says Xylazine is a veterinary tranquilizer that is known to extend the effects of fentanyl.
Faber says it has become a problem on the east coast an is beginning to show up in Rock County.
Faber says Xylazine causes wounds on the body that fail to heal and result in amputations.
