The City of Janesville and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation are developing plans to reconstruct Ruger Avenue between South Randall Avenue and South Lexington Drive.

Project Engineer Karissa Chapman-Greer says the project is slated for 2026.

Proposed improvements to the corridor include reconstruction of the pavement structure, including curb and gutter, marked bicycle lanes, isolated sidewalk replacements, and intermittent storm sewer.

Greer says a community engagement forum is happening Wednesday night from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Craig High School.

Parking within the project limits will be removed from one side of the street. The City is currently evaluating parking needs on the corridor and is looking for feedback from the community on where parking would be preferred.
