The Janesville Police Department gets a little reassurance that it truly is living up to the highest professional standards.

Of the 564 police departments in Wisconsin, only eight percent are fully accredited by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group.

Police Chief David Moore says Janesville is one of them.

The Janesville Police Department has been accredited every three years since 2000.

Representatives from WILEAG were at the Janesville City Council meeting this week to present the police department with their latest accreditation that follows a site visit back in May.
