With the wind chill expected to dip below 0, Rock County announces the activation of overnight warming shelters.

Overnight warming shelters will be open Friday and Saturday night, as well as Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week.

In Janesville families can go to the Center Avenue House at 802 Center Avenue between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. GIFTS Men’s Shelter has room for up to four men who aren’t currently clients in their lobby. You do need to call ahead.

In Beloit the Salvation Army will except overnight guests between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. The Beloit Memorial Hospital emergency room will also be open all night as a warming shelter, however there are no beds.
