The Whitewater Unified School District will ask voters a referendum question in April.
The school board passed a couple of capital referendum resolutions Monday night. The question on the ballot will ask for authority to borrow up to $30 million for work across the district.
Under the proposal, Whitewater High School could see kitchen and cafeteria renovations, tech ed expansions, and updates to the auditorium and tennis courts.
The question also asks for renovations; maintenance; building infrastructure; and safety, security and site improvements throughout the district
While the final scope of the work can be determined after the referendum vote, board members talked about some of the finer details of what could be included in the interest of transparency.
Such things as the number and material of new tennis courts, air conditioning in the high school gym, and auditorium amenities all were weighed against each other to figure out what might fit in a $30 million referendum plan.
