Wisconsin’s 31st Assembly District-elect is no stranger to the state legislature.

Republican Tyler August has served in the 32nd Assembly District since 2011, but due to re-districting, his address now falls within the 31st Assembly District, which includes parts of Rock and Walworth County.

August received approximately 63 percent of the unofficial vote count, compared to the 37 percent received by Democrat John Henderson.

According to state records, August graduated from Big Foot High School in Walworth in 2001. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and the University of Wisconsin – Madison, but did not obtain a degree. He completed a leadership program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in 2012.

The 31st Assembly District is currently represented by Republican Ellen Schutt who did not seek re-election.
